Jeff Carey is the president and owner of Blue Traffic, an Internet marketing firm based in Des Moines, Iowa. Carey got his start in the industry in 1998 building pay-per-click campaigns on Goto.com. In 1999 he created and sold Thrifty Domains, a web-based advertising service for domain name owners. In 2001 he launched IowaSites, an Internet directory for Iowa businesses. He formed Carey Consultants Group, Inc. in 2003 to help companies with web design, hosting, and online marketing strategies and later rebranded it as Blue Traffic. Today, Carey continues to consult with companies nationwide on search engine optimization (SEO), PPC Advertising, and Social Media. He has earned certifications from Google, Yahoo, and MSN/Bing and has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Northern Iowa. Carey is married and has two daughters. Marc Patterson

Marc Patterson is an Internet marketing consultant and account manager with Blue Traffic. Marc oversees SEO projects as well as PPC campaigns and he is a certified Google Advertising Professional, Yahoo! Advertising Ambassador and Bing AdExcellence Member. Before working at Blue Traffic, Marc was a student at the University of Iowa where he received his BBA in Marketing. Marc resides in West Des Moines and spends his free time enjoying the company of his family and friends. He also enjoys playing golf and when time permits, reading Joe’s extensive bio. Joe Winn

Joe Winn has been the Web Content Coordinator and an Internet Marketing Specialist at Blue Traffic since 2008. He performs a number of laborious duties, such as generating optimized web content, implementing advanced search engine optimization strategies, and managing accounts for clients in a variety of industries.
Joe is a Houston native who lived in Texas for all of 18 months, until it was determined that fair skin would unfortunately inhibit him from living a healthy and prosperous life in the deep south. He eventually graduated from the University of Iowa in a little less than half a decade, earning degrees in Journalism and Mass Communication and Communication Studies. His name never appeared in the Iowa City police blotter - one of the truly extraordinary scholastic achievements of our time. His personal interests include cooking, golfing, compiling formidable reading lists, and yelling at the television in hopes of Kirk Ferentz heeding his dubious advice. View Joe’s recent posts here.
