What’s All The Fizz About? OrangeSoda Pops into Des Moines

This week the Des Moines Register sent out an email informing Central Iowa businesses about several free search engine marketing seminars they will be putting on next week.  The seminars will be conducted by the Register’s partner  “Orange Soda”, an Internet marketing firm headquartered in the Salt Lake City suburb of American Fork, Utah .

So what’s all the fizz about?  Well, it’s exciting to see more search engine marketing buzz being generated in Des Moines, Iowa. And with the largest newspaper in the state now promoting SEO and PPC, many more people will have an opportunity to get a taste of what Internet Marketing is all about, even if it comes with a little fizz.

On the surface it appears that the Des Moines Register is planning on using OrangeSoda.com‘s guidance and resources to offer online marketing solutions for small businesses around the metro.  After visiting the OrangeSoda  website it seems they are a somewhat traditional search marketing firm offering all the basics like search engine optimization, pay-per-click, Google Maps and Local optimization, etc.  However, digging a little deeper one can find that this Utah based company seems to focus on developing partnership, affiliate relationships and reseller programs with other companies.  To put it simply, OrangeSoda provides the tools needed for their partners to promote, sell and perform Internet marketing services for their own clients. From their About Us page I found:

What does it mean for us?  Time will tell but we’re hoping it will help to push search marketing to the top of area business owner’s  minds and to-do lists. As we’ve always said, search engine marketing is a win, win, win situation. With it, people can more easily find what they are looking for, companies get in front of potential customers they were missing, and business takes place.
